Membership of the HMC comes with the following benefits:

• We are affiliated to the BMC, providing 3rd party liability insurance & other benefits

• We receive discounts in many shops both locally and nationally including Cotswold (15%), Go Outdoors, Joe Browns and Blacks

• Monthly meets in areas such as North Wales, the Lake District and the Peak District using affordable accommodation

• Local walks in the Peak District, Shropshire Hills, Cotswolds, Mid-Wales and elsewhere

• Weekly Pub walks most Wednesdays throughout the summer (open to non-members too)

• Annual meets in Scotland and the Alps including Ski trips offering very good value

• Social events including skittle nights, multi-media slide shows, and the occasional barbecue and curry night

• Grants of up to 10% funding are available to members attending mountaineering based courses that may benefit the club generally (subject to committee approval) and in particular, courses leading to awards of the Mountain Leader Qualifications are encouraged

• We meet every Thurs at 8:30pm at The New Plough Inn, Leicester Rd, Hinckley

• Membership Fees for 2025 are:-
• Junior 11-18 £18;  and Adult £35
• BMC & HMC Safeguarding: HMC take the safeguarding of everyone involved in the club seriously and recognise that protecting and promoting the welfare and wellbeing of everyone is paramount, particularly children, young people and adults at risk. As a BMC affiliated club, HMC operate their safeguarding responsibility and duty of care in accordance with the BMC safeguarding policy and guidance.
