FRENCH ALPS – Samoens July 4-18 2026 (2 weeks)

July 4 @ 3:00 pm - July 18 @ 10:00 am

£180

Samoens – not far from the Swiss border and just an hour from Geneva is our destination for 2026. The semi-detached Chalets Balthazar and Jeroboam (above) combine internally to form one single detached luxurious chalet arranged over three floors, and comprising an impressive 307m2 of living space. Two glorious hot tubs, private gardens and stunning alpine scenery from all aspects make Chalet Balthazar-Jeroboam our ideal club trip to the Alps. With double the living, dining, and kitchen space, the chalet is perfect for our large group, sleeping 16 to 20 guests in 8/9 well-proportioned twins our doubles.

Surrounded by open farmland, the chalet sits in the sought-after hamlet of Les Vallons, a mere 9-minute walk from the village centre of Samoëns. Towels and linen provided and beds made up for our arrival. In addition to some group catering, there’s a good selection of eateries/ bars in the local village – and a bakery!

The area is a nature lovers’ dream with the glacier-fed river Giffre, dramatic mountain peaks, a national park, incredible waterfalls, and an abundance of wildlife surrounding the village. Peppered all over the valley are over twenty waterfalls, none more impressive than at the Le Cirque-du-Fer-à-Cheval where some enormous waterfalls fall over 500 mtrs.

Those looking for action and adventure will find a huge number of activities available, and of course, the village just so happens to offer convenient high-speed links into the Grand Massif.

Hiking

The valley offers hundreds of kilometers of hiking trails, from easy family-friendly walks to mountain peaks and multi-day hikes, from beautiful rivers and waterwalls to exhilarating ridges, and everything in between.

Climbing

There are several excellent climbing spots around Samoëns and the Haut-Giffre valley, from easy low-grade climbs to high grade multi-pitch routes.

Mountain Biking

In Samoëns, enjoy family friendly river side trails, marked cross country and e-bike routes, steep technical lift-served singletrack, bikeparks, and some shuttle services.

Road Cycling

Whether you wish to test yourself on the 1000m climb to the Col de Joux Plane, or cruise up the Cirque du Fer a Cheval for lunch, there’s something for everyone.

Cost (depending on exchange rates) is about £180 per week, and a £100 deposit is required per person (not per week – per person). First come first served and bookings will open when this event appears on our FB page.

A third week could be arranged, subject to availability and numbers.
