DESCRIPTION:The club has arranged through our local climbing wall at Warwick University (Coventry) for a short “instructor led” course. (1:4 ratio with a maximum of 8 participants).\nThis will include\n• 4 x one-hour sessions over four weeks commencing Sun 11 Jan 2026 at 5pm (or 6pm by arrangement)\n• Suitable for all abilities\n• Learn the basics or develop new techniques\nWhat you’ll learn\n• Basics of climbing safely including putting on a harness correctly\, performing pre-climbing checks and safe practice in the Bouldering Room\n• How to descend from a route correctly\n• To tie a rethreaded figure of 8 knot and stopper knot\n• Using a friction Belay device to be able to catch a falling climber\nWhat it’ll cost\nThe cost is £60 which includes use of the wall\, instruction and all equipment\, showers etc.\nWhat you’ll get afterwards\nAll being well\, you will obtain a “Green Card” which will enable to use the wall thereafter unsupervised.\nAnd what next? You’ve been climbing at our local wall.
