About Us
The club is affiliated to the British Mountaineering Council, which qualifies HMC members for insurance cover against any civil liability claim up to a limit of £5 million worldwide.
We provide members an opportunity to meet and socialise with like-minded individuals, and a newsletter recording past events and outlining future meets.
We meet every Thursday at 9pm in the Holywell Inn, London Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire.
Club members enjoy a wide range of activities - walking, climbing, orienteering, mountain biking and skiing.
Hut meetings are arranged throughout the year visiting popular climbing and walking areas. These weekends are a great way to meet existing members and enjoy the outdoors. In addition to the hut weekends, informal club ‘meetings’ often evolve as people try to take advantage of spells good weather, etc.
Certain events now form the backbone of the Club's social calendar. The social highlight of the year is the President's weekend, currently planned for the North Wales in October. In addition to various activities during the day, there is a dinner on the Saturday evening with the presentation of the prestigious "TAT" awards.
An inter-club skittles match normally takes place during the spring.
Quiz nights, lectures, Munro bagging trips to Scotland, and skiing trips to the Alps have also been regularly arranged by Club members during the last few years.

Club history
The Club was formed in 1980 following an advert that appeared in the local paper. Brian Cooper placed the advert wondering if there was enough local interest to form a club. The rest as they say is history… From its relatively humble beginnings the club has grown to have a current membership of around sixty.
